Is Ceruledge legendary or mythical?

Ceruledge is not a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. It is a regular Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, although its design and power often make it feel special. Ceruledge evolves from Charcadet when exposed to the Auspicious Armor, and its dark, knight-like appearance and signature move, Bitter Blade, help it stand out from many standard Pokémon. While it plays an important role in battles and is popular among players, it does not have the rarity, unique story status, or official classification that Legendary or Mythical Pokémon possess.

Why is Ceruledge banned in AAA?

Ceruledge has been banned in the Almost Any Ability (AAA) format because it became too dominant and unhealthy for the metagame. In AAA, players can assign almost any ability to any Pokémon, which lets Ceruledge use extremely powerful combinations that other Pokémon can’t reliably stop. Its access to strong offensive moves like Poltergeist and setup options such as Swords Dance made it difficult to counter without specific team support. Many teams struggled to consistently switch into or check Ceruledge because it threatens huge damage and momentum once it starts sweeping, making matches less balanced and strategic. The competitive community and tier leaders held a suspect test to evaluate its impact, and enough voters agreed that banning Ceruledge would help restore balance, so it was ultimately removed from the format to keep AAA more fair and diverse.

Is Ceruledge exclusive to Pokémon Violet?

Yes, Ceruledge is exclusive to Pokémon Violet, meaning it cannot be obtained naturally in Pokémon Scarlet. In Violet, Charcadet evolves into Ceruledge when it is given the Auspicious Armor, an item that is only available in that version of the game. Players using Pokémon Scarlet instead have access to Ceruledge’s counterpart, Armarouge, which evolves using a different armor item. However, even though Ceruledge is version-exclusive, Scarlet players can still obtain it through trading with someone who owns Pokémon Violet. This version exclusivity encourages interaction between players and adds variety to the two game versions, but it does not completely lock Ceruledge behind one title.

How to evolve to Ceruledge?

To evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge, you must first obtain the Auspicious Armor, an evolution item exclusive to Pokémon Violet. This armor can be acquired by trading specific materials with an NPC in Zapapico. Once you have the Auspicious Armor, give it to Charcadet to trigger the evolution. There is no level requirement, so the evolution happens immediately after the item is used. Before evolving, it is a good idea to decide whether you want Charcadet to learn certain moves, as evolution may change its battle role and stats. Ceruledge becomes a Fire and Ghost–type Pokémon with a strong offensive focus, making it effective in both story progression and competitive play. Players who own Pokémon Scarlet can still obtain Ceruledge by trading with a Violet player, allowing everyone access to this powerful evolution.

Ceruledge

Conclusion

Ceruledge stands out as a powerful and stylish Pokémon with unique evolution mechanics and strong battle potential. While it is not a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, its exclusive availability in Pokémon Violet and impressive move set make it highly popular among players. Understanding how to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge, its competitive strengths, and its role in different formats helps trainers use it effectively. Whether you are playing casually or competitively, Ceruledge offers a rewarding experience for those who build and train it wisely.
